The CAI supports the achievement of the digital tick logo by its members. The logo is a personal statement that the installer carrying the digital tick has proved competence and is reputable by achieving an NVQ in Signal Reception and has also produced a satisfactory background disclosure. This protects the consumer on two major fronts, that of reputability and the ability to do the job in which he or she is employed - in this case the provision and hand over of a signal reception system in an individual home. To that end CAI encourages all its installers to achieve the industry NVQ at Level 2 in order to qualify for a digital tick licence.
The RD-LB is a subscription based body originally set-up and subsidised by The Department of Trade Industry (DTI) and now under the directorate of The Department for Business, Innovation & Skills. Its criteria for achieving a licence to use its version of the digital tick logo can be found on its website www.rdi-lb.tv and clicking on the installer section of the site.
The achievement of an NVQ is detailed under the ‘Training’ section of this website. For locations and contact details of colleges across the UK that deliver the necessary NVQ click on the above link for the RDI-LB.
