Development Manager (Hertfordshire)

Area: Watford, Hertfordshire

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Company Background: The Confederation of Aerial Industries (CAI) is the prime trade association for multimedia content delivery, set up in 1978 to represent all aspects of the aerial industry to include installers, manufacturers and distributors as well as broadcasters and broadcast operators. More recently membership has expanded to encompass emerging technologies such as CCTV and those involved in the Connected Home. The association is a not for profit organisation run by a board of directors, elected by the membership and is seeking to employ a Development Manager to move the association forward.

The CAI mission is:
‘To continue and develop as the lead body for the ongoing creation of standards and education in media distribution and emerging technologies.’

Job Description: The Development Manager will liaise with the Company Secretary, board of directors and sub-committees whilst understanding the needs of all staff members. The association requires management decisions and subsequent implementation of the long and short term plans for development of the association. This new role will act as a direct liaison between the board and administration of the association as it drives towards achieving its mission statement, whilst being responsible to the board on decisions made.

1. Responsibilities
1.1 Working with the Company Secretary on the day-to-day operational management of the organisation.
1.2 The ongoing development of partnerships and relationships with broadcasters, broadcast operators, construction industry trades, housing management authorities, government and the like.
1.3 Develop and explore new and existing benefits for the membership.
1.4 Tie together CAI aims and objectives in work streams that drive the CAI public profile higher.
1.5 Regular reporting and presentation of activities to Board of Directors.

2. Requirements / or Experience
2.1 High level of commercial acumen
2.2 Clearly defined record of purpose / goal achievement.
2.3 Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
2.4 Knowledge or understanding of profit and loss, budgetary management and key performance indicators.
2.5 A basic understanding of synergies that drive trade associations.
2.6 The production of analytical and discussion documentation.

3. Personal Skills
3.1 Clear judgement for quick, sound decision-making.
3.2 Influential strength that inspires confidence and trust.
3.3 Self motivated and ability to generate and plan strategic work streams. 

Salary and hours to be negotiated. Regular attendance at the CAI. Headquarters in Watford will also be required.

Telesales Executive (Nottinghamshire)

Job Description: To maximise sales leads for External and Internal Account Managers by producing high quality leads from outbound calls to existing and prospective customers. To provide support to the Sales Team dealing with queries, enquiries and quotations. Working within a Team environment to ensure set Targets and Goals are achieved.

Key Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Identify opportunities, leads and generate high quality enquiries for the Sales Team.
  • Develop creative pitches and propositions aimed at specific industry sectors
  • Proactively follow up leads generated from canvassing by the account managers.
  • Use of initiative to identify and follow up opportunities with companies who are not already on the database. (Prospecting within a targeted warm market)
  • Manage the database to a high degree of accuracy to ensure targeted marketing activity can be recorded to generate new business
  • Work closely with the marketing team to achieve sales objectives

Experienced Audio Visual Installation Engineer (London & Home Counties)

Area: London & Home counties

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Job Description: Thames Aerial Services are seeking an experienced audio visual installer/ engineer to join our established team. This is a varied role, with the AV Installation Engineer being offered the opportunity to be involved with installations and servicing of new and existing systems in both residential and commercial properties. Responsibilities will include dealing with the installation of Home Cinema Systems, Home Automation Systems, Networking, and Cabling etc. Experience and knowledge with aerials and satellite systems is also essential. The ability to carry out installation activities on time and to the required standard with the ability to accurately diagnose and remedy faults/ problems by way of troubleshooting AV systems and equipment. There is also possibility to work on projects abroad.

Applicants should be located within easy reach to our office in North London area and must have a ‘can do, will do’ attitude whilst being flexible and adaptable.

You must possess a strong ability to work alone, or as part of a team and use own initiative and capable to overcome challenges during the working day whilst maintaining a high level of presentation. Experience and understanding of control systems would be an advantage.

Essential requirements:

  • Clean, smart appearance with excellent customer service skills is a must.
  • Full clean UK driving license
  • DBS checks will be carried out for successful applicant
  • Be tidy and organised in your work
  • Have a good understanding of 1st and 2nd fix AV installations
  • To be able to read, interpret and work from schematics, terminating sheets, site plans and drawings
  • Enthusiasm for AV technology with the willingness to learn
