Sky Launches Redesigned Sky Go App for Glass and Stream Customers

Sky has launched a redesigned version of its Sky Go app for Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers, bringing more of the Sky OS experience to mobile and tablet devices. The update is designed to make it easier for customers to move between watching on their television and on the go.

The refreshed app allows users to pick up programmes where they left off, access content saved in My Library and stream in Full HD. Customers can also remotely schedule recordings on their Sky Glass or Sky Stream device while away from home.

Navigation has been redesigned around dedicated Home, TV Guide, My Library, Sport and Search sections. New programme and film pages include information such as cast and crew details, Rotten Tomatoes scores and recommendations, alongside options to save, record or download content. A new parents' guide has also been added for children's films.

Sports has its own dedicated section, bringing together live and upcoming events as well as saved content. Customers can follow their Premier League club, access Sky Sports+ streams and remotely record live sporting events through the app.

The redesigned app is available now for iOS and Android devices. A laptop version for Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers is expected to launch soon. Sky Q customers will continue using the existing Sky Go Q/+ app, which retains features including remote recording and downloading recordings for offline viewing for eligible Multiscreen customers.

The update reflects Sky's continued move towards a more unified software experience across its IP-based television services, extending features from Sky Glass and Sky Stream to customers' mobile devices.
