Channel 4 Strikes Landmark Streaming Deal with Disney+

Channel 4 has agreed a major partnership with The Walt Disney Company, bringing its main television channel and hundreds of hours of on-demand programming to Disney+ subscribers in the UK and Ireland from early 2027.

The agreement will give Disney+ customers access to Channel 4’s live HD channel, alongside popular scripted and unscripted programmes at no additional cost. Selected new shows will also be available on both platforms on the same day, including drama Maya, starring Bella Ramsey, comedy Stepping Up and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Other titles expected to feature include Big Mood, Tip Toe and 24 Hours in A&E. Content will be hosted within a dedicated Channel 4-branded section on Disney+, using the platform’s existing interface.

The partnership aims to expand Channel 4’s reach, particularly among streaming audiences, while giving Disney+ subscribers greater access to British programming. It forms part of Channel 4’s wider strategy to diversify distribution and revenue through partnerships with major streaming platforms.

Further details on the launch and programme selection are expected to be confirmed closer to 2027.
